Bug#234800: openoffice.org: Creates empty directories .netscape* that confuse mozilla

Package: openoffice.org
Version: 1.1.0-3
Severity: normal

For some time now, I see that OpenOffice creates two directories in a
user's home directory called .netscape and .netscape6 which are almost
empty: they only have subdirectories called plugins on my system (i.e.,
it creates ~/.netscape{6,}/plugins).

Unfortunately, the presence of such directories confuse Mozilla in such
a way that it thinks that it has to convert data from old profiles (even
if you have already been using Mozilla for quite some time already).

The worst problem is that novice users get extremely confused when they
see a menu they have never seen before (Mozilla's Profile Manager) after
they've been using Mozilla for some time and after just one use of
OpenOffice.

Is there any way to make OpenOffice not generate such (undesired)
directories upon first run/installation?

Thanks, Rogério Brito.
