Well, issue 4494 itself contains this message:

This is fixed in the next 644 build anyway since ICE (and therefore
SM) connections are now processed in a separate thread that is not
dependent on the office startup

644 corresponds to 1.1, so according to that message there is no fix
available on 1.0.x. Someone will have to actually test this out.
