I have requested a transition slot for Octave 9 (see #1067842).

The transition has begun.

It seems that octave-fits is not ready for Octave 9, it needs to be fixed.

We might simply ask for removal of octave-fits. The fits package seems abandoned and has been superseded by the cfitsio package [1].

Then I suggest that we file a removal request for it.

Done: https://bugs.debian.org/1071499

Please note that the transition is not over, and thus you should refrain from any upload not related to it. Those uploads will only delay the transition.

Oh, sorry, I uploaded octave-statistics 1.6.6-1 recently!

The other blockers for the transition are currently octave-queueing and octave-statistics, whose autopkgtest fail against Octave 9 according to the octave tracker page.

I still have to investigate what is the problem with octave-statistics.

Please, do it.

It looks like upgrading octave-queueing to 1.2.8 would help (the new release is not at the usual location, it has been moved to GitHub).

I will take care of octave-queueing.

Best,

Rafael Laboissière
