Well, a system administrator might have modified these files,
and then it would not be OK when they disappear on a remove.
Can you test whether the files are still the original ones?
In principle you could rename one of the files into 50ocaml-mode.el
in case it has been modified but maybe that's too much trouble
for a corner case.

I have now commited into svn my proposed changes to the 
tuareg package.
