What's your inetd.conf line about tftp ?
tftp dgram udp wait nobody /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/sbin/in.tftpd /srv/tftp -l
I once saw tftp sort-of-timeout problems, but they appeared in the logs. Guillaume
