my solution to this was to just save the date to a file on shutdown
and restore it at boot. Obviously one could just add a few seconds
to be on the safe side, but that wasn't neccesary on my qube. ntp
was not a good solution for me, as the network driver only worked
as a module, and depmod would complain as well if the current system
time was before the modules.dep file was built.
