I've emailed the MIA alias to see if all the packages should be

However, I've had email problems for the last day or so but I haven't
heard anything so far.

If you want to do it, please do so. Once orphaned, if nobody picks up
those packages, a new version should be uploaded as a QA upload (allow
at least 7 days). That is the time to fix all possible lintian errors
and warnings, make other quality improvements and basically bring all
these packages up to the highest quality in Debian. I'll gladly sponsor
the ones you want to do and help with the others if necessary.

Volker is a university professor and has been too busy for Debian (and
other free-software projects) for some time. Pretty much all the
packages he is listed as being the maintainer for are part of the
SynCE[0] suite (but not the actual SynCE libraries or daemons). The last
time I spoke to him was about a year ago when he said it was fine that I
took over any of his packages. I have now adopted the important SynCE
packages I can maintain (with him as the co-maintainer for some).

I am sure he wouldn't mind if his packages were adopted by others. I
personally have no interest in any of his current packages, as I either
don't have the hardware to test them, or don't use the software.

You may be interested to know that I am going to request the removal of
vdccm (no longer maintained; made obsolete by odccm) and synce-kde (no
longer maintained; made obsolete by synce-kpm which is not in Debian
yet) as they are both leaking RC bugs. Volker is upstream for both of
these too.

Sorry for taking too long to reply to this thread. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the heads up! Should syncekonnector be removed as well since it is for synce-kde?

I've orphaned everything else, not mentioned here. If you want me to file the removal requests for the packages you mention, please let me know!

Oh, also what about synce-dccm? Apparently /usr/bin/dccm conflicts with dcc-milter.

Thanks again!
