Hi Tom,
most probably you won't get help for you problems on this list. This is (even if
the title might be misleading) a list for people who (or want to) prepare
packages for Debian. They can get help here with packaging and find Debian
Developers (DDs) who upload their packages. As described on the lists homepage
at http://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/ its for newbie _developers_.

You are most certainly more at home on one of the users-lists or in a forum of
you liking.

A few examples:
* debian-user (http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/) and its localized frieds
(debian-user-[NAME OF LANGUAGE] like debian-user-german)
* http://www.debianforum.de/ the German Debian forum
