The source seems to be kept at [1], which has indeed 0.8. My guess is
that Ubuntu packaging is tightly integrated to upstream development, and
the Ubuntu tarball can be considered the official source.

However, Thijs' comments in [2] about contacting the Ubuntu maintainer
about maintaining only one package for both distributions still apply.
