RFS: pmplib

Hi,

I thought I'd make a second attempt to get my pmplib package sponsored...
I tried once before, but didn't get much luck:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/2006/07/msg00047.html

* Package name    : pmplib
 Version         : 0.14.20070214-1
 Upstream Maintainer : Naoaki Okazaki <nyaochi at users sourceforge net>
* URL             : http://pmplib.sourceforge.net/
* License         : GPL
 Section         : sound

It builds these binary packages:
easypmp - create music databases used by portable media players
libpmp-0.14 - library for creating playlists for portable media players
libpmp-dev - library for creating databases for portable media players
(development files)

The packages are lintian/linda/piuparts clean.

The upload would fix these bugs: 369975

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/pmplib
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable
main contrib non-free
- dget http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/pmplib/pmplib_0.14.20070214-1.dsc

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

It's based on a snapshot tarball shortly after 0.14 was released,
hence the date in the title.
However, the code itself is the same as the released version.

The library is called libpmp-0.14.so, rather than the usual
libpmp.so.x.y.z. This is as per the
libtool manual's recommendations for packages that are likely to
change API regularly
(although PMPlib generally works fine, it's still considered alpha,
and the the API is likely to
change). The package name reflects this - hope that's OK.

It's rather useless to you if haven't got one of the supported
mp3/media players, but a good
'kick the tires' test is to run 'easypmp -l' to check that you get a
long list of media players -
this means the plugins for each kind of device can be loaded.

Kind regards
Martin Ellis
