If you are sponsoring packages that's just a one-time action. Then 
sponsorees can tell you that a new package is available on 
mentors.debian.net and you just run "apt-get update && apt-get source 
foobar". IMHO it's pretty useful that m.d.n's has an apt-get'able 
directory layout.
