Soponsoring FAQ clarification

The last paragraph at The debian-mentors FAQ, located 
http://people.debian.org/~mpalmer/debian-mentors_FAQ.html reads:

  Consider setting up a "sponsoring" alias for you and your sponsee, by
  creating a file in your home directory on master.debian.org called
  .forward-sponsoring-<jbloggs> containing your e-mail address and the
  address of your sponsee separated by commas (see existing entries on
  master). This will create a mail alias,
  <yourname>-sponsoring-<jbloggs>, which will send mail to both you and
  your sponsee. Handy!

I don' t get it... can someone clarify a little bit and maybe provide a
working example?
