I think there really is nothing wrong with people paying money to
individuals to do work on Debian. This is in various forms already
being done, and there are certainly a number of DD's, and also other
maintainers, that are willing to accept money to spend their time on
area's in Debian that the money-provider wants. That only results in
more work getting done on Debian, after all.
