It seems its not a native package? I think the changelog is consulted
to get the package version (but it must agree with the control file
and the directory name?). Meh, apt-get source debian-goodies for
details:)
It might be complicated to do what you want because you're including a
date in the package name, which I think will be interpretted as a
version number unless you include something after the date, or unless
you include a separate version number ..
