The first place to start for you should be the Debian Documentation
Project <http://www.debian.org/doc/ddp>. That is the homepage for the
effort to coordinate and develop documentation pertaining to Debian.
There is a TODO list there at <http://www.debian.org/doc/todo> which you
might want to take a look at.
Also, be sure to subscribe to the mailing list debian-doc (by sending a
blank message to debian-doc-request@lists.debian.org with the subject
"subscribe"), and ask on that list for things to do (believe me, there's
plenty to go around...more than once in fact! :-)
That should get you started.
