Strange.

$ grep '$Id' ~/gimp-print/current/include/gimp-print/*
grep: /home/roger/gimp-print/current/include/gimp-print/CVS: Is a directory
/home/roger/gimp-print/current/include/gimp-print/gimp-print.h: *  $Id:$
/home/roger/gimp-print/current/include/gimp-print/gimp-print.h: * End of $Id$
/home/roger/gimp-print/current/include/gimp-print/gimp-print.h.in: *  $Id:$
/home/roger/gimp-print/current/include/gimp-print/gimp-print.h.in: * End of $Id$
/home/roger/gimp-print/current/include/gimp-print/gimp-print.h.in.~1.10.~: *  $Id$
/home/roger/gimp-print/current/include/gimp-print/gimp-print.h.in.~1.10.~: * End of $Id$
/home/roger/gimp-print/current/include/gimp-print/gimp-print-intl.h: * "$Id$"
/home/roger/gimp-print/current/include/gimp-print/gimp-print-intl-internal.h: * "$Id$"
/home/roger/gimp-print/current/include/gimp-print/Makefile.am:## $Id$

Perhaps the files are set to binary type, or something? I just
noticed that some of the unexpanded entries /are/ $Id:$, so the `:'
isn't the reason.
