Well, I've been running chimera 1.6/1.7 on an i386 for, hmmm, more
than a year at least. This is been a combination of compiling from a
tarball, using Debian's packages, and rolling my own. I haven't ever
experienced anything like that, so I suspect it may be something with
the upstream code and the Alpha proccessor. :(
