Oh, I missed part of your question. What I say below still applies, with the
addition that /etc/menu-methods/wmaker should be execuatable inside the .deb
file.

So, when wmaker is installed and configured, then /etc/menu-methods/wmaker
exists and is executable. Now when the menu package is installed, it will
use the menu-methods file.
