Hi, Steffen.
Do you mean we should NOT discuss how to create a 'live' DVD/USB based
on the "Bio-Linux" task here but should discuss it on Debian Devel?
The essence of the "bio-linux-desktop" task is to update Bio-Linux 8 in
a way that makes it maintainable and sustainable by deprecating the old
NERC/NEBC repositories that we can no longer update. What I want is to
create a "bio-linux" metapackage in two parts that can be used to create
a bioinformatics desktop or server platform when it is installed on an
existing Ubuntu or Debian system, but also to provide a bootable iso on
DVD or USB-stick that can be used for tutorials or for installations.
Of course, that also means replacing my existing Bio-Linux 8 VM's on
CyVerse and AWS or any other cloud platform that we want to use...
So, where should be discuss this if not here?
Bye,
Tony.
