Well, Blends ARE Debian.

Blends are just people working together taking care of
packages within a specific field of interest. The packages
themselves are always part of Debian itself. Often Blends
will provide a few meta-packages to ease package selection
for a specific area of interest. Those meta-packages
wouldn't exist if the people working on the Blend hadn't
created them but other than depending on (and thereby tying
together) existing Debian packages they don't add extra
value to Debian.

Basically, Blends are Working Groups within Debian.

Say, you have a "Debian Blue" Pure Blend. Now you can go: "I
want Debian and I want it to be blue." So you say:

	apt-get install debian-blue

and you'll get a blue Debian. That's it. No magic.
