I have uploaded the package to debian mentors (created using pbuilder).
Additionally, I:
i) tested purge and it works
ii) fixed a few minor typos in debian/orig-tar.sh

p.s. lintian -I on the changes warns that we are using first person in
the description. I have checked here

but we are using "We" in reference to the OpenMRS development team
