If what you are asking is to package the emboss libraries as public library
packages, my answer is no. There is no demand nor need for this. The packages
in Sid are now using the libraries privately. That is enough, and does not make
any implicit promise that we can not keep because backwards compatibility is
sometimes broken.

If there are some other modifications that are important for the Lenny to
Squeeze upgrade, please be more precise. When you ask for ‘high-quality
package’ or ‘get emboss fixed’, it does not give much hint on what you are
thinking about in particular.

 - If you would like the emboss package in Testing to be corrected, I can
prepare a Testing update version 6.1.0-6 that will have tighter dependance
on emboss-lib, plus Breaks declarations where needed, so that partial upgrade
of just emboss from Squeeze in Lenny will work.

 - If you agree to let the latest stable upstream release migrate to Squeeze,
please let me know what in 6.3.1-6 would cause upgrade difficulties to Lenny
   users.
