E.g. the QRISK2-2010 score, as implemented on http://qintervention.org and within our commercial SDK, rely upon this to factor deprivation into the score. We are currently in negotiations to publish the map under a creative commons licence, though that may take some time.

This reminds me to add the following warning: make sure that all files
come with proper copyright statement. Kartsen is right that if there
some files with unclear copyright it is a better idea to leave them out
for the moment and clarify the issue. Our ftpmasters will check
carefully any piece of code and data and if they find anything they are
not sure about the package is rejected. This turned out as the most
time consuming part to finally get a package included (for all involved
persons). So checking things from the beginning makes sense.

If in doubt a first means is to run the script

   /usr/bin/licensecheck

of package devscripts (because you said you are running Debian this
should be easy).

Thanks

      Andreas.
