For the imaging.wml page, there is some vocabulary explanation in the

Well, the package description of the meta package is reproduced
at the alioth page. Do you think that the text might be useful
for the meta package as well? If yes, we can easily implement
this. If no it is also not really hard. We would just have to
invent some new keyword (for instance Wed-Description) that
could be added to or replace the description from the meta
package on the web page.

The pages contain many pasted package descriptions, and I have submitted
their translations to the DDTSS. So for this point of view, it is OK to
abandon them: the translator's work will not be completely lost.

I hope to get the DDTP translated descriptions on the web pages
in the not so distant future.

However, this only applies to existing packages, not prospective ones.

Yes. But IMHO the extra profit of the auto generation is a killer
feature which overrules the translation of the prospective packages.
If you don't agree we might think about taking over some translations
to the tasks files - but I do not think that it is really worth the
effort. We provide links to the homepages and if upstream does not
care for a translated description and the user is unable the English
description on our page user and application will probably not fit
together anyway. So we might spend high effort to service that is
poorly used.

Kind regards

       Andreas.
