question on cgi hosting

Hi,
could you tell me how are hosted the CGI interface and background
scripts to generate live image on demand [0]?
Is it on a Debian server ?

I expect to create a software that will need a web interface but also
temporary "storage/computing resources" just like you do for your
project. So I wonder how my software could be hosted (I could do it in
my premises, but for long term it would not be Debian stuff).
