BOSS GNU/Linux Live CDs are not using debian-live stuff at least not as of now, there is work going on in that direction but I am not involved in it so I can't really comment on it.

I did, the GUI mode wasn't working on the Squeeze image i downloaded (debian-live-60alpha2-i386-gnome-desktop.iso), would you point me to some documentation on it (docs, screenshots etc) ?

True, i'll think of another name.
