Source for package when building ISO

Hi,
stumbled across the project, looks to be a good one ;-)

When you run 'make-live' it retreives the packages one-by-one, it looks
like it's pulling these down from the web.

Is there a way to use local packages, or even packages from multiple
sources?

If you look at the way 'apt-get' does it, it take multiple sources
merges the trees to find the highest versions, checks the local on-disk
cache and then only downloads if it needs to.....

I'm building my second iso (as I type) and it looks like it's
downloading everything as we 'speak'.

Would it be possible to hi-jack the apt-get method to provide more
flexability and prevent excess downloads.
