That's probably true, if info-gplv3 is going to work like an open mailing list, where anyone (at least any subscriber) can post. It's not yet clear to me how will it work. Actually the subscription page (http://www.gplv3.fsf.org/) made me initially think it was rather something like a newsletter or anyway something similar to our *-announce@lists.debian.org lists... Later, when I subscribed myself and saw it is run by Mailman, I changed opinion... Anyway, all these speculations are probably moot, as there is the password issue I mentioned earlier in this same thread... > In addition one would get the same mails twice > if one is subscribed to both lists, and that would seem to be an as > ineffective use of network resources as CC:ing people on replys. ;) :-))) That's true, I cannot deny it... :p What I was actually thinking about was signing up debian-legal *XOR* signing up individual people. But, as Nathanael pointed out, interested people will have to subscribe anyway in order to partecipate, so you seem to be right... > > > P.S.: > > Last time I checked, the code of conduct[1] recommended to reply > > to the list only, *unless* the original poster explicitly request to > > be Cc:ed. > > I'm a debian-legal subscriber and I didn't ask to be Cc:ed (or > > To:ed...): please avoid replying to me directly. Don't worry, it wasn't a great inconvenience, as long as it doesn't happen often. But lately several people seem to direct replies to me, and I always have to explicitly remind them that I haven't explicitly asked to do so!! ;-) That's weird... -- :-( This Universe is buggy!
