Uh.. you're right that the technology doesn't matter.  The details of
what technology is implemented doesn't matter one way or the other except
where copyright law specifically mentions something about that technology.

However: one of the issues we're talking about is how we might distribute
mutt such that it can use ssl for mail pickup.
