Modifications to QT May be licensed as QPL or GPL or Both. However
only those modifications which include a QPL license, or GPL+QPL
License will be in the official QT since both the Free and
professional
editions must be the same.
I think this is a good approach. Most people who change a program
would like their changes to be included in the next release, so
this should persuade most people to release their changes as requested.
It also goes beyond
simple encouragement of QPLing patches to lay down a blatant threat.
I would not use the word "threat", because that implies an action
whose purpose is to punish someone. This policy would not be
motivated by desire to punish anyone, it would simply be what was
necessary given the ways Troll Tech would want to use its version.
