hm, shouldn't happen - what does 'xrandr -q' says?

(note I can switch LFP<->CRT via <Fn-Fx>)
1. switch with <Ctrl-Alt-+> from 1280x800 WXGA to 1024x1078 - now virtual
  screen is still 1280x800
2. switch to CRT
3. xrandr -s 1024x768 - which makes virtual screen 1024x768, ie = real screen.

that's it. Less convenient than single step with xrandr-1.2 (supposing it'd
work as advertised on Intel's site), but it works.
