Sorry it didn't work for you. I originally tried to load Fedora Core 4 on my Toshiba 2515CDS but it encountered problems with the yenta_socket module and I couldn't find a way to control Fedora Core 4 as it booted to eliminate the problem. That is why I decided to try Debian 3.1. Debian seemed to be a more controllable distribution and I was glad the 'debconf/priority=medium' option allowed me to succeed.

That was about a year ago. Since then I have replaced my 2515CDS with an HP DV9005 laptop running WindowsXP. I have not attempted to install Linux as a second operating system on the hard drive because WindowsXP uses the NTFS file system and has a second recovery partition that I didn't want to fool with. So I have been using a MEPIS Live-CD version of Linux to run temporarily on my DV9005 without installing anything to the hard drive. MEPIS booted smoother than any other distribution of Linux I have tried.

Linux is not for the faint-of-heart! LOL

i tryed with knoppix 3.4, DSL,slax  but it doesn't  work too

i'll try with  mepis

thx again
