2.6.7 kernel on Thinkpad 560

Hi Folks,

I am trying to compile a 2.6.7 kernel for a Thinkpad 560. I'm using the 
kernel source package from the unstable archive.

I seem to have the operating system loading up, but it's not much use - 
the screen is basically garbled shadows. It works on the stock 2.4 
kernel, so I'm guessing int's something I'm doing wrong.

Has anyone installed a 2.6 kernel on a Thinkpad of this vintage?

I can include my .config if anyone can help.
