| | Hi,
| Hi,
| I've the same machine. Works for me (except for some urgs).
| | I have a Dell Inspiron 8100 and i tried to install woody r2 with
| | Cd. I need to use wifi network, so i use bf24 to boot but my dell
| | freeze during install...
| This can be a problem with the pcmcia setup. From my
| /etc/pcmcia/config.opts
| # port 0x800-0x8ff macht Probleme auf dem Dell (KaRo 3.9.2002) #
| ============================================================
| #include port 0x100-0x4ff, port 0x800-0x8ff, port 0xc00-0xcff
| include port 0x100-0x4ff, port 0xc00-0xcff include memory
| 0xc0000-0xfffff include memory 0xa0000000-0xa0ffffff, memory
| 0x60000000-0x60ffffff
| hope this is clear: port 0x800-0x8ff causes trouble -> machine

Simplest thing: shortcut the /etc/init.d/pcmcia-script by an exit as
the first command (don't forget to remove later ;-).

| | | I don't find any tips or any info on
| http://www.linux-laptop.net/ | I cannot believe! I've found several
| pages dealing with that (it's not my recipe!).
Found it on the WEB. Several sites given by Google
