Re: best laptops for debian linux
Hi everybody,
I am using an Acer TM 290LCi and besides the problems with the Centrino (no
wifi-support yet) it is a great machine. It is running incredibly long on
battery and it is silent and fast. I also made an install from Knoppix CD.
Touchpad, sound and cdwriter worked right away, ACPI was a little more
difficult. Network Card wasn't a problem. Modem still is. I have the driver
installed as serial #15 but cannot make a connection.
Oliver: don't they all use that pctel-driver? Check it out at:

That one is supposed to be working with most winmodems. Let us know how it
turns out!
