Re: help install toshiba satellite 2435/S255

Thanks. I have just tried the SuSE 8.1 Live Evaluation CD which I burned from their site. It actually boots right away and it seemed to recognize most of the harware. The only thing it failed to do was to use dhcp and connect to the internet. But I'm a neophyte in the wold of linux, so i will try and install the whole system soon and then try and figure out how to the rest and get the whole thing to work.

all the best,
matt.

I have a Toshiba 3007-S307 and it would also staall in the boot
process, at the point the md drivers get loaded. The work around was to
boot from 'disk5' (the 2.4 kernel) of the Debian cd set.
