No, i don't think so ... but someone else may answer this question.

humm .. i advise you to leave APM and take ACPI ... As i understood
about APM, it cannot deal with thermal issues, processor speed, fans etc
..

For laptops, this is vital !

Also we should remember that unfortunately free software
is not widely used because people prefer to have something
to plug'n'play and not something to configure'n'work.
