acpi4asus (http://sourceforge.net/acpi4asus) distribute an asus_acpid
that can be run as user, e.g. from .xsession, and that listens to
/var/run/.acpid.socket for acpi events. It's a simple per-user variant
of acpid, nothing ASUS-specific about it.
