this doesn't mean somthing is wrong... I have the same log on my Vaio using the same audio controller and chip.

no, IO is correctely mapped and your device get an IRQ.

1. as already said try to play something as root (eg.: use mpg123), add yourself to the audio group or change permissions on audio devices (/dev/dsp)
2. check if Master and PCM volumes are ok
