I have a 3000-S307, it probably has very close to the same hardware.
Especially the video hardware, gf2 go 16M, 14.1 screen.

If you look at my working config you will probably notice that I am
using the nvidia drivers and not the 'nv' Xfree one. I could never even
get the stock nv driver to work at all. Hope this helps.
