There is a patch by Peter Osterlund, now at
http://mobilix.org/software/synaptics/
I don't know whether it helps in this case,
but you should try it at least.
Also I don't have time to package the driver, and
I don't have this kind of touchpad to test it. Maybe
somebody from this list is interested to do that?
