Potato (2.2) is considered to be the "stable" distrinution. It's two years old
now, the software is extremely out of day. It may be OK for servers (although
I know productions web/anoncvs servers that run woody fine), but for desktop
use, it's fairly useless without lots of work.

Woody will be 3.0, hopefully very soon and the software is nicely up to date
and it's very stable (I installed in February and have run the installation
since then periodically doing an apt-get upgrade).
