'could not get online' is a bit ambiguous. Can you access your LAN, but
not the internet?

This output is consistent with an interface that is set up and properly
configured. The second line shows that you have an IP address (I assume
this comes from your sygate server.) Are you able to access other
machines on your LAN and/or the gateway? If you can access your LAN, but
not the internet, then it's probably a routing problem. What is the
output of 'route -n'?

It appears you already have an address through DHCP, which means that
pump (or dhclient, etc.) is already running. That is why it is hanging
when you try to run it.
