Hi Enrico,

I have a Dell Latitude CPxH500GT and I have not experienced any of the
problems you descibe above (I thought I had, but it turned out gf had
powercycled my laptop :-). 

I also react to the part where you say that the system was back up *most
times* after suspend. This sound rather flaky. I have had no trouble with
apm suspend or hibernation at all. Don't know if this flakyness is due
to harware problems or what, maybe others can answer this. BTW, what
options do you use with apm in the kernel config? And do you include it
directly or compile it as a module?
