Re: X 4.0.1 problem with a Toshiba laptop

I have a similar problem, though not on a laptop, but on my normal
desktop PC. When I change to a vc and back, X goes black, and I have to
reboot with ctrl-alt-del - I can't even kill X, or shut it down. This only
happens with 4.1.0 - 4.0.x worked fine.

This would seem to be something in X 4.1.0 itself. I just wonder what. I
just hope that when I get the laptop I won't have the same problem.

Now, although I can still use X, every time I switch to a console and then back to X the screen just keeps getting brighter as if it was misconfigured until I kill it. If I try to start X again it goes fine until I switch to a console again.
