Re: Hybernate for Sony Vaio PCG-F680K
Yes, the Sony Vaio works in hibernation mode if you configure the kernel proberly.
I have a Sony Vaio SR5K, which I just took out of supend/hibernation mode.
No special partition needed for supend mode:

You have to configure it in the kernel.
I also had it working on the 2.4.4 kernel a few months back.
Current Kernel 2.2.19
Kernel Config info:
CONFIG_APM=y
# CONFIG_APM_IGNORE_USER_SUSPEND is not set
# CONFIG_APM_DO_ENABLE is not set
CONFIG_APM_CPU_IDLE=y
CONFIG_APM_DISPLAY_BLANK=y
CONFIG_APM_RTC_IS_GMT=y
# CONFIG_APM_ALLOW_INTS is not set
CONFIG_APM_REAL_MODE_POWER_OFF=y
# CONFIG_TOSHIBA is not set
#
# Plug and Play support
# No Windows Installed
Note use the Fn Esc key to enable hibernation.
-Hope this helps....
