Depends on your graphics chipset. You might need a 2.4 kernel to get the
most out of your display [I can only get 3D accel w 2.4.x] - I think USB
has been backported to 2.2.x - basically, 2.4.x is 'close' to being
stable, for some reasonable value of close - there are glitches for
some people, but I have been using it for some time w/o problems - otoh
2.2.x is definitely stable, but we're beginning to get to the point where 
it is getting left behind for new hardware, I think... personally, I'd say
go for it, use the 2.4.x kernel, but it's a close call.
