using flash memory cards...

hi-

i'm using a flash memory card in my laptop...gotta say it's pretty
slick how it appears as just another ide device! anyway, just out of
curiosity, i tried to pop the card out when it was mounted. it seems
the card is unmounted, but the resources for the ide interface created
for it are not released.

for example, when i first insert the card, the ide2 interface is used,
and memory ports and an interrupt are allocated. if the card isn't
mounted when i pop the card out, everything works fine the next time.
however, if it is mounted, the next insertion uses the ide3 interface,
with different resources.

i was wondering if anyone knows do garbage collection on the unused
(and presumably improperly freed) ide interface? thanks!
