i have the same problem. it is a very annoying problem for me
because some of the daemons on my system complain if there is no
network interface available when they start up -- something that
tends to happen at boot time when dhcpcd is involved :-(
rough hack:
have network daemon start up occur after dhcpcd has successfully
completed.
