It doesn't keep the offending line bellow column 72, but I managed to keep it at column 73 and the whole text was displayed when I used podebconf-display-po to test my changes. Please, keep in mind that this translation is done using UTF-8. Others pt_BR debconf template translations use ISO-8859-1. I made sure I switched to a UTF-8 terminal when doing the needed change and when generating the patch. To avoid major encoding problems, I'm sending the patch gziped. Please consider applying.
